Robotics Integration MGA Thermal
SAPHI integrated the first of several robotic arms to automate the loading and unloading of thermal energy storage bricks for a renewable energy company, enhancing their capacity by a factor of 10 through robotics automation.

What Was The Problem?
For MGA to deliver on its promise to clients, it required a significant ramp up in production capability. However, the manual handling of storage bricks was labour-intensive, prone to errors, and limited the company’s scalability. This manual bottleneck severely capped the potential of product output, urging a need for an innovative solution that could seamlessly integrate with the company’s infrastructure without incurring exorbitant costs.
What Was The Solution?
Our innovative approach combined the power of robotic arm integration with an optimized conveyor belt design. By re-envisioning the system’s layout, we harnessed the full capability of a single robotic arm, negating the need for a second. Our tech-agnostic perspective ensures that our primary goal remains on delivering optimal outcomes, rather than increasing equipment sales. This blend of strategic design and technology not only saved on costs but also amplified efficiency, showcasing our commitment to ingenious solutions tailored to each challenge.
What Were The Outcomes?
- Significant cost savings by eliminating the need for multiple robotic arms.
- 10 fold increase in production
- Consistency in output & performance
- Marked decrease in maintenance demands.
- Enhanced system oversight, driving efficiency.
What Skills Did SAPHI Use To Implement The Solution?
The tech and experience required for the Ai traffic system included a broad range of skills from our team of computer, electrical and software engineers, including:
- Design & Consulting
